About Go Foraging

Discover seasonal wild plants and mushrooms that can be foraged near where you live. Explore a variety of habitats, getting to know plant families and how to safely identify each species.

On each walk you’ll learn what to eat, what to leave and where to forage, plus lots about cooking, preparation and storage of wild food. We’ll talk about ecology, folklore, about food as medicine, fermenting and tincture making.

There’ll be tasters and the chance to make your own wild herb tea. You’ll come away inspired to create your own delicious meals, condiments and medicine from your foraged ingredients.

Mary-Jane E's thoughts on Foraging with Go Foraging4th March 2023

A small team of us from work spent a very enjoyable morning on a foraging walk and found it absolutely fascinating. Who knew that so much of what we see every day can be eaten / drunk or used for medicinal purposes?! I am finding myself wandering around with a fresh view of what is on offer from our lovely countryside. Martin was able to stop and tell us so much about the plants that we were walking amongst without having walked that path before. This was followed by an absolutely delicious lunch of items both foraged by us and pickled and fermented items previously foraged. I’d thoroughly recommend a foraging walk. I’m already planning my next one!

We engaged Go Foraging to put on private courses for winners of our sustainability awards. Martin was absolutely brilliant. From the initial enquiry, he came up with some different bespoke foraging adventures, and clear cost breakdown. Communication was excellent throughout and was flexible with changes in the courses and numbers going on them. But most importantly, attendees all came saying how knowledgeable Martin was and having had a unique and fun day out!

Liz's thoughts on Foraging with Go Foraging4th March 2023

We booked Martin for the afternoon to guide us through Clevedon’s beautiful coastal landscape, showing us what we could harvest from the hedgerows and inspiring us with culinary delights we could create afterwards. The event was organised for 20 of our office staff, of varying ages and interests. The day was amazing. Martin was charismatic, entertaining and of course full of knowledge and ideas for all things food, drink and foraging. We’re still talking about the day now, months later and using our new found knowledge. I would highly recommend. Many thanks Martin.

Abi S's thoughts on Foraging with Go Foraging4th March 2023

Our hen party foraging excursion with Martin was fantastic. Martin was really prepared; he'd scouted scenic foraging routes ahead of time and brought along amazing home-made snacks and infusions to sample. He was really knowledgable about foraging and cooking and kept us really entertained during the walk and in the cocktail making session afterwards. I can highly recommend his services for a unique and personalised group activity.
