Wild Storyboards | Outlearn Activities Guide

Have you ever made a storyboard? This activity helps use tell great stories in a unique way. The aim of wild storyboards is to combine natural materials to produce a story allowing others to guess what it is. This allows children to better understand nature, their environment and to express creativity and imagination.

Explanation

Split into two or more groups, then each group thinks of a well known story e.g. Jack and the Beanstalk, The Bear Hunt, Stickman. Each group then makes a storyboard out of sticks.

They make a row of three or four similar sized frames on the ground. Using loose natural materials, each group tells their story in a series of two or three dimensional pictures in the frames.

Safety Tips

Be aware of low lying branches when finding sticks. Be aware of others when carrying sticks. Wash your hands after the activity.
