Wild Masks | Outlearn Activities Guide

Become one of the creatures that live within the woodland by creating a wild mask. Immerse yourself into nature and use your skills to produced this great creation (mask), which will aid you in falling deeper into your fantastic imagination. This allows children to better understand nature, their environment and to express creativity.

Explanation

Wild Masks

To hold an eye mask in place, tape a straight stick on the back at one side. To attach a full face mask, make a cardboard frame to fit your head as follows; Cut two lengths of cardboard about 5cm/2in wide by 30cm/1ft long. Fix them together in a cross. Cut another length about 5cm/2in wide by 60cm/2ft long. Bend this round to fit your head and fix the ends together. Tape the cross of cardboard over the circle and tape to the mask.

Leaf Masks

Decorate the biggest, toughest leaves you can find with bits of coloured leaf stuck on with double sided tape. Cut out eye holes and then tape a stick down the centre of the mask to stiffen it and hold it in place.

Safety Tips

Use good practise when using scissors, and wash your hands after the activity.
