Can you make the tallest and strongest skyscraper? The aim of skyscraper is to work with others to create the biggest structure that can hold certain weights. This allows children to better understand team work, cooperation, and express their creativity.

Explanation

Split group into teams, explaining about ‘Skyscrapers’ and that structures are getting bigger and heavier. The structure will be tall and hold a weight at the top.

The lead will ask the group questions about any topic, answering the questions correctly will award the team points. After question time, the groups will spend their points on materials, which will go towards their skyscraper.

The skyscraper has to be unassisted with a weight (golf ball or heavier) to be placed towards the top of the structure, for an allotted time, this will be classed as a successful attempt. If there are two teams left then you could add weight to see which skyscraper brakes first.
