Fire is an amazing tool to use within the natural environment. The aim of fire making is to combine natural resources and the ability to all work together to complete the task. This allows children to better understand their environment, team and focus on safety.

Explain to the group that understanding how to; start, maintain, and extinguish a fire is very important to know. Demonstrate how to make a fire using good practise. Then make sure the group understand the steps, and ask them to go and prepare their fire. When they think they are ready to light the fire, it is then that the leader has a look to see if they have remembered everything, before the fire sticker is given to them.
